Distance and Journey Time
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to Freiburg is about 270 km, almost entirely on the A5 heading south past Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden. The drive takes roughly 2 hours 50 minutes in normal traffic. The A5 is fast, but the southern stretch toward the Swiss border carries heavy holiday traffic in summer.

Option 2: ICE Train
Direct ICE trains from the airport's long-distance station reach Freiburg Hauptbahnhof in around 2 hours. It is fast and scenic in places, though Black Forest villages and Europa-Park still need onward travel from the station. Landing at Terminal 3? Allow 10–15 minutes on the free SkyLine to the long-distance station.

Option 3: Taxi
