ICE: Fast, but Station-to-Station
Direct ICE trains from the airport's long-distance station reach Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in about 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 25 minutes; fares depend on how early you book (check bahn.de). Heading to the Messe or a suburb? You will still need a taxi or local train — with queues during fair season.

Tip for Trade Fair Visitors
During Medica and co., Düsseldorf hotels are expensive and full — many exhibitors stay in Cologne instead. The next dates to plan around: MEDICA 2026 runs from 16 to 19 November 2026, and boot 2027 fills the halls from 23 to 31 January 2027. There is a route for that too: the Cologne transfer takes only about 15 minutes less. All airport connections are under airport-to-airport.

Solo with a destination near the Hauptbahnhof: ICE. Teams, exhibition luggage, or addresses outside the centre: fixed-price private transfer — especially during fair season the most reliable option.
